Chelsea are in negotiations to make a signing this summer, which will be music to the ears of many Chelsea fans, and some of them wont even care which player it is!
That’s the extent of some desperation to sign a player this summer that I’ve personally witnessed on the Twitter timeline at least, so many will be just pleased to hear the words that Chelsea are in ‘negotiations’ to sign someone.
So, is the player something to get excited about? Yes, probably. Some might not agree, but Raheem Sterling is a pretty good player that we should not be upset about if he arrived at Stamford Bridge this summer.
And that’s who we are in negotiations to sign right now, according to Fabrizio Romano, who has been speaking on his latest Caught Offside column this morning.
“Chelsea have Raheem Sterling high on their list for the attack,” Romano says. “Negotiations are underway through intermediaries and not yet direct between clubs.
“Chelsea have approached with €25m plus add-ons, but there is no possibility for this fee – Man City would like almost €55/60m for Sterling.
“I’m sure Sterling can be a much more useful player than Romelu Lukaku for Thomas Tuchel’s ideas, Chelsea need a player with these skills and attributes.”
Todd Boehly has only been the Chelsea owner for three weeks and he’s already got that transfer ball rolling!
